why?Regardless of your level of comfort with public speaking, you can benefit from our practical, face-to-face learning program. The mutual support and encouragement ensures that everyone progresses.

Whether you're speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You'll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators.

how?

Each meeting gives members an opportunity to practice important communication and leadership skills. Role assignments rotate, giving every member experience. Primary skills include:

Presenting prepared speeches
Members present speeches based on projects from the Toastmasters International Communication and Leadership Program manuals. Projects cover such topics as speech organization, vocal variety, effective vocabulary, gestures, and the art of persuasion.

Offering constructive evaluation
Every prepared speaker is assigned an evaluator who points out speech strengths and offers suggestions for improvement.

Giving extemporaneous speeches
Members present short impromptu speeches, responding to proposed topics.

Conducting meetings
Meetings usually conclude with a short business session which helps members learn basic meeting procedures. Every meeting has an agenda published in advance with assigned roles.

Toastmasters delivers.
Around the world more than three million men and women of varied ages and occupations have benefited from Toastmasters training. There are more than 9,000 clubs in 70 countries worldwide in communities, corporations, universities, associations, and government agencies.
